Full Stack Software Developer in Seattle

Twenty years ago, Seattle was the place to be if you had dreams of music, performance, and greatness. I traveled along with the young optimistic masses following the call of grunge music and found my actual calling – not in music, but in software development. Initially, my visions were of guitars and drums, and of signals and wavelengths, but I discovered a newfound passion of working on computers and networks, and writing scripts and code.

I found my way into the Software Development industry through a small creative agency called Pop Multimedia in 1999. I started in media production (Audio, Video, Photoshop), but soon advanced to lead the QA department, and later advanced to Senior Developer where I worked on a range of exciting and complex projects. Since leaving Pop in 2007, I’ve broadened my career as a SDE II at Microsoft and Principal Developer at Razorfish. Now, I’m a freelance/independent software developer, specializing in Website, Web Services, and App development using ASP.Net MVC and Web API, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML/CSS, SQL, WordPress, and more. In my over 15 years in software development, I’ve gained extensive experience in a range of technologies and project types, and have a deep understanding of using Agile Methodologies for software development. I focus on being a truly full stack developer who is capable and comfortable in a range of technologies from Front-End to Server Side, to Web Services and Content.

In addition to software development, I’m also skilled in website publishing and front-end design. I run Strong + Healthy, a fitness and health website I custom designed and implemented with a WordPress back-end deployed on an AWS EC2 Linux Instance. My career in software development and media production has spanned many years working full-time for companies such as Pop, Microsoft, and Razorfish.
